Origins

Frank Jansen Photography came into being in 2004 as a result of Frank's long-time interest in photography intersecting with the world of dog agility through the exploits of our first Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Darwin; since Darwin's emergence on the agility scene, Ransom and Bette have followed in his pawsteps. What started as a desire to capture the accomplishments of Darwin rapidly expanded to include other dogsports, equestrian events and animal portraiture. Throughout all of these, Frank looks to capture the excitement of the event and the intensity of the animal athlete.

Success in the animal photography field has rekindled the creative spirit and led to expansion into other fields of interest, such as product, nature and fine art photography. The common thread that connects all of Frank's photographic endeavors is identifying and capturing the very essence of the scene, be it animal athleticism, a product shoot or the composition of a fine art scene.

The rapid advances in digital photography helped make the decision to become an all-digital photography house. Digital photography does not remove the requirement for sound fundamentals in photographic technique and a solid understanding of the subject being photographed.
